プロフィール
東京女子大学名誉教授
1970年東京女子大学文理学部英米文学科卒業。東京大学大学院人文学研究科英語英文学専攻修士課程修了（文学修士）。東京女子大学文理学部英米文学科専任講師を経て、2014年まで同大学現代教養学部人文学科教授。1993年ロンドン大学School of Oriental and African Studies (Department of Linguistics)にて客員研究員。専門は英語学（英語史）。
主な著書：The Katherine Group: A Three Manuscript Parallel Text, Seinte Katerine, Seint Marherete, Seinte Iuliene, and Hali Hali Meiðhad, with Wordlists （Studies in English Medieval Language and Literature 32）(2009年、Peter Lang、共編)、主な訳書：『英米単語の歴史辞典』（1996年、柏書房、共訳）。
